Unlike her predecessor Michelle Obama, First Lady Melania Trump has made it clear that she cares nothing about fame or attention. Melania is a private person who would prefer to work behind the scenes to help the American people.
That’s why many wondered if the White House would reopen for public tours under Donald Trump’s administration. This week, we were given our answer.
“I am excited to reopen the White House to the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come each year. The White House is a remarkable and historic site and we are excited to share its beauty and history. I am committed to the restoration and preservation of our Nation’s most recognizable landmark,” Melania announced, according to AOL.
Melania has spent her first month in the White House focusing on redecorating it. She recently hired interior designer Tham Kannalikham, who is known for her classic and subdued taste, to help her execute her vision for the home.
“Mrs. Trump has a deep appreciation for the historical aspects of the White House and with Tham’s traditional design and expertise, they are focusing on a seamless integration of elegance and comfort into where the president, the first lady, and Barron will be spending their family time and calling their home,” Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, senior adviser to the First Lady said in a statement to WWD.
