There has been an uproar surrounding President Donald Trump’s new legislation for healthcare and his plan to nullify ObamaCare. Many notable members of the Democratic Party have spoken out in defiance against Trump’s decision to repeal the Affordable Care Act. US Representative Joe Kennedy III, the great nephew of the deceased President John F. Kennedy, had a genuinely sincere and passionate response. His message was eye catching with his chosen word choice. He addressed House Speaker Paul Ryan for suggesting that Trump’s new healthcare bill is an “act of mercy,” which we know is completely opposite of the truth.
While talking with the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Kennedy scrutinized Ryan, stating:
‘I was struck last night by a comment that I heard made by Speaker Ryan, where he called this repeal bill “an act of mercy.” With all due respect to our speaker, he and I must have read different Scripture.’
While expatiating on the ordeal he said:
‘The one I read calls on us to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to shelter the homeless, and to comfort the sick. It reminds us that we are judged not by how we treat the powerful, but by how we care for the least among us.’
Using Twitter to reach out to more individuals, Representative Kennedy expressed his concerns using the hashtag #ProtectOurCare:
There is no mercy in a system that makes health care a luxury. GOP repeal bill is not act of mercy. It is an act of malice. #ProtectOurCare pic.twitter.com/2pZG6uqgtl

Senator Elizabeth Warren labeled the bill as fundamentally cruel when she chimed in on the morality of the proposed legislation. She mentioned that since the Republicans have began the repeal process there have been increasing numbers of supporters who are now for the Affordable Care Act.
There are no indications suggesting the Republicans are going to let up, even with centrist Republicans advising against some provisions of the new bill and the distress about the decision of the GOP to nullify ObamaCare. President Trump did his best to reassure the American people on Twitter:
Despite what you hear in the press, healthcare is coming along great. We are talking to many groups and it will end in a beautiful picture!

The determination of the Trump Administration to successfully repeal the Affordable Care Act is evident. Even more evident than their determination is the peril encompassing the future of healthcare for Americans. The only thing that can change the future is the people of the U.S.
